Gryffindor Common Room
This was one of my first Harry Potter inspired rooms that i had done and was also the building block to the start of many rooms to follow.
A variety of new skills were used to make this room as there were many new materials i had started to use including plaster and real sandstone.
The bookcase if full of spell and potion books also some potion bottles are placed on the bottom shelf.
A lot of atmosphere was created with muted lighting and dark colours,replicas of the tapestry's were printed on to canvas and hung on brass polls.
The table is filled with spell books made by different artisans from around the world.

Items are placed around the room as if the students had just left,and views from the window of Hogwarts grounds was done with photographs placed behind the glass with a soft warm led light behind.
The fireplace was aged with a black wash paint to give the effect of years of use,it was made using plywood and overlaid with sandstone.
The Gothic window is made from MDF and has been painted with a textured sandstone spray paint to make it more authentic in appearance.
Hedwig was made by Irmgard Gritzan who's expert sculpting of animals made her the perfect choice for all of the Harry Potter characters i have used throughout my Harry Potter inspired rooms.
